(UYEP)
The Urban Youth Empowerment Program (UYEP) provides both education and work experience for “High Risk” out of school and/or adjudicated youth ages 18-21 in St. Clair County, Illinois.
The UYEP goal is to ensure self-sufficiency through community service, continued education and unsubsidized employment.
UYEP consists of four components: Assessment, the Education Continuum, the Work Continuum, and the Personal Development Continuum.
Highlights of UYEP include:
Training opportunities including assessment and counseling;
GED preparation;
Work opportunities and internships; and
Community service continuum.
UYEP is sponsored through the US Department of Labor and administered through the National Urban League.
