Emergency Cash

Assistance Program

• The Emergency Cash Assistance Program is used to prevent the removal of children by Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) or to allow the return of children from DCFS placement.

• Clients must be referred by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services in order to receive assistance.

• The Emergency Cash Assistance Funds may be used for:

  • Security deposit and/or first month's rent;

  • House repairs;

  • Utility payments

  • Food;

  • Clothing;

  • Furniture and/or other equipment; and

  • Transportation.

• The Emergency Cash Assistance Program is funded by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).
